"The Witcher" Short Story From "The Last Wish" Gets Graphic Novel Adaptation

Dark Horse and DC Projekt Red have announced another graphic novel adaptation of one of Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher short stories from The Last Wish. This time the short story is "The Witcher." Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher: The Witcher is adapted by Aleksandra Zielinska with art by Michael Dowling, colors by Luis NCT, and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

"Geralt pursues a proclamation from a king of a bloodthirsty monster plaguing his palace. A hefty reward is offered to cure the beast, but not to kill it, for the king holds a secret—what lies beneath the palace is beyond the spawn of evil. Charlatans and amateurs have tried and failed to answer the region’s plight. Now, Geralt sets out to claim the bounty—by decree of the king or by the pleas of those who wish the creature dead." Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher: The Witcher, featuring a cover by Kai Carpenter, goes on sale in bookstores on December 16, 2025, and in comic shops on December 17, 2025.

Elektra Takes Up Daredevil Mantle

Elektra is taking up the mantle of Daredevi in a four-issue comic book series. Daredevil: Woman Without Fear hails from writer Erica Schultz and artist Michael Dowling.

The leadup to Daredevil: Woman Without Fear kicks off with Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder's Daredevil #11 (on sale July 10), in which Matt Murdock and Elektra face off against Bullseye and Kingpin. The aftermath of the issue will find Daredevil's allies "more vulnerable than ever before. If they’re able to survive, it will fall to Elektra and Matt Murdock to not only save their city as Daredevil, but also protect the people they love the most as they’re targeted by some of the most dangerous, violent elements the Marvel Universe has to offer!" (Marvel Comics)
